Justin is the President & CEO of Cerus Consulting. He conducts intervention work aimed at promoting health behaviors in youth and adults through changes in the physical and social environments. Much of his work has been focused on promotion of physical activity and healthy eating in youth, but he has also conducted research examining a number of health behaviors, including sexual health, worksite wellness, and maternal/child health. Justin is particularly interested in developing strategies to implement evidence-based, best practices in community settings, while conducting rigorous evaluation to document meaningful improvements in health behaviors and health. His work has been funded through a number of public and private sources, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the de Beaumont Foundation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institutes of Health.
Justin earned a doctorate in health education from the University of Texas in Austin, a master's degree in exercise science from the University of Mississippi, and a bachelor's of science in kinesiology from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. He has also completed a certificate of competencies in epidemiology from the University of Michigan.
